I get a bit of confidence from doing a good copy and then attempt an original. It is here where I lack perserverance. I did a couple of drawings yesterday and they were sufficiently pleasing but once I tried an original pose it all fell down and I stopped working. When I look at some of the fantastic work in this wonderful community I get a similar feeling to when I mess up a drawing. Initially its interesting and exciting and I enjoy it however, as I get further into it the complexity and skill that I see and that is necessary to create what I want becomes overpowering and I find it hard to contend with. It is frustrating and upsetting seeing all that is possible and knowing all that I want to achieve and seeing it so far out of reach.
I am working hard to over come these problems and it is getting easier. I am aiming to spend a day, or evening more likely, just drawing as much as possible from my imagination and not worrying about how it looks and what I intended to do before I started. If I am to make any headway toward doing what I want to do then I have to get over myself and actually seeing my plan down in type will (I hope) make the process more of a reality.

Enjoy! b.
